about

I feel tired all the time.

I sleep somewhere between 7.5 and 9 hours per day (including naps) and never feel rested. I wake up wanting to go back to sleep again. I fight to stay awake during the day. I’ve fallen asleep while walking. I wake at night, unable to move, seeing ‘creatures’ in my room.

And sometimes I can’t sleep, no matter how tired I feel.

Because of this my doctor has sent me to a neurologist because she suspects I have narcolepsy. Looking at the symptoms and what People With Narcolepsy say about it, it looks familiar. Very familiar.

I decided to document my journey to diagnosis because it will help keeping things in perspective for me. And who knows, someone else might find it useful too.
